Sign up with your email and phone. Confirm both via verification code.

Verify your identity

Canadian financial regulations require this. Photo of government ID plus a quick selfie. Usually instant but can take up to a business day — plan ahead.

Tip: Use good lighting for the ID photo. Blurry or glare-covered IDs are the #1 cause of verification delays.

Fund Shakepay with CAD

Move money from your bank into Shakepay.

Step 1 · instant

Add → Interac e-Transfer

In Shakepay, tap Add on the home screen → choose Interac e-Transfer → enter the amount you need (your order total plus a buffer for network fees) → pick your bank → confirm the transfer. Funds appear in your Shakepay balance within minutes.

Faster: e-Transfer is instant up to $3,000/day at most Canadian banks. Direct deposit also works but takes 1–2 business days.

Convert CAD to USDC

USDC is a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar. It’s what you’ll send to pay.

Tap Exchange and choose USDC

Tap the Exchange button (the middle blue button on the home screen). Select “CAD” as what you’re selling and “USDC” as what you’re buying.

Step 2 · 1 min

Enter your order total and confirm

Type the CAD amount matching your LeanGoatLab order total. Shakepay shows the USDC you’ll receive at the current exchange rate. Confirm.

Add a buffer: Exchange rates and network fees fluctuate. Add $5–10 CAD on top of your order total so the USDC comfortably covers payment plus network fee.

Send payment to LeanGoatLab

The actual payment step. Slow down and double-check.

Open your LeanGoatLab checkout

While placing your order on leangoatlab.com, the payment portal shows options for different types of crypto payments. Click USDC, and keep this tab open.

Step 2 · 2 min

In Shakepay: Send → Send Crypto → USDC

Copy the USDC address from your LeanGoatLab checkout. Paste it into Shakepay’s recipient field. Always paste — never type a crypto address. One wrong character means the payment goes to a different wallet and the funds are unrecoverable.

Double-check: Verify the first 6 and last 6 characters of the pasted address match the checkout page exactly.
Step 3 · 30 sec

Enter the amount and confirm

Enter the USDC amount your order requires. Shakepay shows the network fee on top. Confirm the send. You’ll get a confirmation in the app and a transaction hash.

Step 4 · 2–10 min

Wait for blockchain confirmation

Your transaction takes 2–10 minutes to confirm on the blockchain. Once confirmed, the LeanGoatLab checkout updates to “Payment received” and you’ll get an order confirmation email. Your order is now being processed.
